Event - Reception visit the Butterfly Farm

10 July 2012

Reception children enjoyed their visit to the Butterfly Farm at Stratford-upon-Avon after watching their own tiny caterpillars turn into Butterflies, back at School. They kept their own diaries of how they changed each week.

An owl butterfly – Why do you think it might be called an owl butterfly?
The butterfly table was very popular!

We had the chance to hold a stick insect.
We couldn't believe how big the Giant snails were.

It's as big as my hand!
You can't even tell when the butterflies land on your head – they are so light.

The feeding table – the butterflies enjoy the sugars from all the fruits.
We looked at the different Chrysalis' that different butterflies have

We held a Centipede – it felt a bit like a hand massage when they walk across you.
